Wheel throwing ceramic course for adults (age 18+) learning how to throw for the first time or those returning.

In a friendly and supportive environment, you will have your own wheel and learn how to prepare the clay, throw, trim, apply surface decoration and glaze. This course is suitable for beginners and all levels of experience, our teachers will work with you to develop and refine your forms and throwing technique.

All materials are included, additional fee for fired pieces, £7.00 per kilo (a cup is about £1.00).

If you miss a class, you may make up one session in another class during the same term. Make-up sessions are not transferable and must be used within the current term.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

WHAT TO WEAR / BRING WITH YOU:

Wear old clothing and closed toe shoes, shirts which you can roll up your sleeves- you will get dirty. We recommend to bring a full-length apron which you can wash at home. You may also want to bring a small hand towel.

PAYMENT / IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

As a small business we would not be able to survive by offering refunds, exchanges or transfers less than 14 days advance of the start date unless we can fill your place with another student. We will do our best to fill your place with someone on the waiting list, please get in touch.

The cost of this course includes all tools, materials and equipment but does not include the cost of firing. Payments must be made in full in order to book a course. The cost of firing will be charged at £7.00 per 1kg for fired ceramics (for example a cup is about a £1).

Glaze test tiles by one the students. There are so many combinations using overlapping slips, oxides and glazes so we encourage everyone to make test tiles as they progress with their making. It may be time consuming but it's fun and worth the time.
