Ceramics Taster Sessions
Taster sessions run continuously throughout the year, they include wheel throwing, wheel throwing and hand building, and one-off sessions exploring a different technique or focusing on a specific theme. Look out for our new Claydates, ClayMates and other date nights where you can spend time with a loved one or meet someone new in a casual and safe environment sharing your experience of working with clay.
Book a private taster or group taster for yourself, staff team day out, family group or any special celebration with you and your friends or a family members.
Hand Building and Wheel Throwing Taster Sessions
Saturday 25th April, 13th June and 18th July
These sessions provide the opportunity to work with clay and suitable for beginners or those who want to try out a new technique. Learn the basics wheel throwing and hand building using coiling, pinching, surface decoration and slab construction. You will make 2-3 pieces that will be glaze fired and ready to collect 3-4 weeks after the session.
Wheel Throwing Taster Sessions
Saturday 11th April, 16th May, 20th June 25th July Sunday 2nd August
These sessions provide the opportunity to work with clay and suitable for beginners or those who want to try out a new technique. Every person will have their own wheel and you will learn how to centre and throw pieces, you can expect to make 2-3 pieces which will be glaze fired and ready to collect 3-4 weeks after the session.
Private and Group Taster Sessions

Book a group or private session for you, friends, a team away day, families or children. These sessions will be a fun day to learn both hand building and/or throwing on a potter’s wheel.
