Wheel Throwing for Beginners
2 Day Workshop

Date: Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th September 2025
Time: 10:00am - 15:00pm including lunch break (lunch not provided)

Fee: £160.00 (includes all materials and 4 fired pieces - additional pieces charged at £7.00 per kilo)

This course is limited to 9 students and suitable for beginners and those with some sxperience, ages 18+

This is 2-day throwing workshop is for absolute beginners or those who have already take a taster session or who want more time to throw, trim and add handles and decoration.

Learn how to prepare clay, centre on the wheel and make cups, mugs, bowls, and jugs. The second day you will learn to trim the pots, add handles and use coloured slips to decorate your pieces.

Your final pieces that you choose to keep will be bisque fired after the workshop with your choice of glaze that can be collected 4-6 weeks after the workshop or shipped (postage charges additional).

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT:

All of the tools, equipment, clay and decorating provided. We will be working with a stoneware buff clay fired to 1240 degrees.  You will have the opportunity to decorate your pieces with coloured slips and choice of glazes. 

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU:

Bring a small hand towel and apron and any additional tools you wish to use.

Lunch is not provided but there are several cafes and restaurants in the area. The beach is located directly across from the studio and if the weather is suitable is a perfect spot to have lunch and a swim in the sea.

Please ensure you can attend the workshop you have booked as we cannot offer refunds less than 14 days notice, unless we are able to fill your place with another student. Please get in touch and we will do our best.
